Description

Stuck backing plug? This tool may help, make sure you have this kit on hand for your next inspection.

An insulating backing should only ever be tightened by hand with a torque wrench to specified torque, impact tooling must never be used. But that guy who did the last inspection didn't get the memo and tightened the bejesus out of the plug leaving you with a problem.

Rather than breaking the plug and chiselling out the remnants, if it won't budge change tactic before breaking it and use this tool before breaking the plug.

1) Use the wedge tool to separate the elbow body from the backing plug in case they have become stuck together over time.
2) Bring your own 7mm drill bit, use the included drilling template to drill two holes in the backing plug.
3) Use the removal tool with your 19mm ring spanner to turn the backing plug via the two new holes.

After drilling holes to remove the plug the plug is no longer usable, contact us for a replacement.
