Brass Gauze strip to enable Raychem Mechanical Connectors with Class 5 Flexible conductor

When concerned about the mechanical forces on the fine strands of the cable, there is an option of using TE Connectivity’s brass gauze strip BSLM-G-SHIM and wrapping this around the total core diameter prior to inserting the cable into the connector. This will not affect the performance of the connector and it is used in some MV applications in TE Connectivity Raychem brand of inline/termination kits. This method of wrapping the fine strands of the conductor is recommended for cable with stranding less than 0.4mm in diameter.
